Where we’ve been – and where we’re going…

1970’s The idea is first proposed by Dr. Viktor E. Frankl in his landmark book Man’s Search for Meaning.
1997 Artist Gary Lee Price is commissioned to design the "Statue of Responsibility" monument.
2000 Artist continues work on 13 foot clay prototype.
2004 501(c)(3) non-profit corporate structure is put into place. Organizational work begins.
2004 Foundation delegation visits Frankl family and Frankl Institute leaders in Vienna.
2005 Artists design is formally approved by Board of Trustees.
2008 Start-Up Phase officially completed. U.S. Trademarks and Copyright secured.
2009 Pre-Launch Phase begins. See document "Past, Present & Future" for project details.
TBD Host city is confirmed and announced; Capital Campaign Phase and national PR campaign begin.
TBD Construction Phase begins.
Note: Actual construction of the monument will take approximately two years to complete once funds are raised and construction and foundry work begins.
