Dr. Finnigan, long-time Seattle resident has officially joined forces with the Statue of Responsibility Foundation in a move to help advance and strengthen the goal of the Foundation, to build a 300-foot tall monument to lasting freedom on the West Coast of America.

For the past 14 years, prior to joining the Foundation, Finnigan has pursued his own personal interpretation of Dr. Frankl’s idea for a Statue of Responsibility. Dr. Finnigan even had his own web site which promoted his eagle design for the monument. Finnigan has appeared on radio and in the print media promoting his view for the monument. With his recent decision to join the Statue of Responsibility Foundation, Finnigan has abandoned his own work and now will focus his energy on supporting the mission of the Foundation. Finnigan will serve on the Public Relation Steering Committee and will provide additional expertise in several areas including the national coast to coast public relation campaign which will visit school districts throughout the country, promoting a renewed emphasis on the role responsibility plays in the lives of citizens of our country.

Finnigan, who is board certified in the Speciality of Atlas Orthogonal Procedures, is a highly sought after speaker. His book, “Life Beyond Headaches”, was endorsed by “Chicken Soup for the Soul” co-author, Mark Victor Hansen, who said of Finnigan’s book, “Read this book and banish your headaches.”

Our Liberty icon will now be balanced with our Responsibility icon. School children will be infused with the formula, L+R=F (Liberty + Responsibility = Freedom).”

The Statue of Responsibility Foundation is committed to seeing the idea of Dr. Viktor E. Frankl become a reality. In the 1960’s, Frankl said, “Freedom is not the last word. Freedom is only part of the story and half of the truth. The positive aspect of freedom is responsibleness. That is why I recommend that the Statue of Liberty on the East Coast be supplemented by a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast.” The Statue of Responsibility Foundation, a 501-c-3, non-profit corporation, has a two-fold mission: First, to raise the funding necessary to construct the monument. Second, and more long-term in nature, is to establish an educational scholarship fund. Scholarships will be given to applicants who have financial need and who can demonstrate how they have applied the principle of responsibility in their life – and how they plan to carry out responsibility following their university graduation.
